How To Change Usb Settings On Galaxy S6

   To exist precise its non that usb is not connecting to pc or not recognised. The usb when connected information technology doesn't show mtp/ptp and all it does is charge.

   My friend told me that in nexus5 u can go to storage n u tin enable the usb settings simply on s6 border it doesn't prove that option equally my s6 edge was working with out any issue before and the main problem is that i cant be sure if its a hardware problem or software as the phone displays "charger continued" notification. No mtp/ptp notification appears.even the fast charging shows but charging so wht is the problem the cable ? the fast charger ? or the s6 usb port ? but the thing is s6 for nonetheless charges and then usb prob nah and then cablevision notwithstanding works every bit its charging but wont bear witness mtp/ptp so is the cable of low class ?? or is the fast charger cleaved if so ok i will change information technology merely why is there a problem with the s6 edge not connecting with the pc or not recognising the otg cable it says a device has connected when u plug it in northward when u disconnect information technology it says disconnected but wont show u data in the otg cable extension and then what the hell is wrong with my mobile software hardware help me if u can plsss
   and i have tried this going to dialer due north *#0808# n enabling ap and usb settings due north enabling the mtp + adb so i did discover the usb setting pick but this also doesn't work if u got the same problem due north were able to set it please help me out

   Welcome to Android Central! Are you using the original cable? If you're using a different cablevision, be aware that some are used only for charging, and non data transfer.

   Fifty-fifty if you are using the original cablevision, try a different ane, since cables can fail unexpectedly.

   Don't know if this will assist you or not. With your telephone connected to your PC by USB cable, pull down your Notification bar. Does the USB connectedness say "Charging"? To access your files on your phone from the PC y'all have to touch this notification and change it from "Charging" to " File Transfer MTP". That is what helped me.

   yes that the principal trouble you see s6 doesnt have that option of irresolute it to file mtp/ptp the option isnt therein settings and what i did was *#0808# and i also checked if it was in mtp or not but information technology was in mtp+abd still it only say charging so i havent been able to identify the problem i even checked with different cables and unlike charger i accept been browsing through the net and i have seen some people with the similar issues and they also havent been able to identify the issue and i dont think its the usb port problem equally it still does charge and then.    I havent tried it in other pc'south but i did endeavor the otg cable on it. It used to work fine only now it doesnt show me the binder/ files in it. All information technology does wheen i connect my otg cablevision is that information technology shows usb continued n i click information technology and it disconnects it doesnt bear witness the folder or data in it before when u practice it shows usb connected northward information technology opens the binder but at present nothing the usb does say something is connected but it doesnt prove thursday efiles. when yous connect a pendrive to your mobile it usually shows the capacity northward how many files n space remaining in the storage just now only the internal storage is shown it doesnt testify anything in the storage so i dont know what the problem.

    Once more, my files were non showing up either but the PC and phone were connected okay. I read a thread where information technology said to pull down your notification bar (upper right of phone). Touch the USB connectedness button and it should give you the option of selecting charging only, MTP, PTP, and something else I don't recall. You need to practice this while you are connected via USB cable. I selected MTP and that fixed the upshot for me.

    Notation: going into the settings of your telephone and trying to select MTP that way did not work for me. Maybe I didn't have the USB cable connected at the time, I don't recall. Merely you need to take the connectedness first, and then change the settings.

    I've had this problem recently and what acquired my Galaxy S6 not to connect to transfer files only only charged the phone was:

    I have PC which I built with an Asus Motherboard remove all the arranged Motherboard Software - the monitoring, USB turbo software and like junk they want you to install.. I've also had this in the by with Gigabyte Motherboard's bundled software. If removing this software does non work for you lot reload your system back to a fresh Windows install (If that's an option) and the phone volition connect so you can transfer files and Flick'due south etc..

    Y'all should not have to change any settings on your phone for your PC to pick the phone up then you can transfer files.

    This effect is defiantly a software upshot with your PC.

    I am having the exact same consequence, will charge but not allow any media transfer. It used to connect fine, oasis't had to connect for a month or so and now it won't. I am using a surface pro 3 with windows 8.1. Very frustrating!

    Yes, Galaxy S6 Edge. With your phone connected to your PC with your USB cablevision, swipe down your status bar (upper left on your screen). Tap on the USB connectedness and then select MTP. That worked for me.

I recall I know what you are talking about but the issue I am, and I think the original person who posted this is having, is that we don't go that option now, but used to.     No MTP Options. Even after *#0808# Option and select MTP, information technology automatically selects USB Debugging which i read should be off. When you turn USB Debugging off it turns MTP on. Only fashion to re activate is to utilise *#0808# however that re enables USB Debugging.

    I'g besides experiencing this, or something very like on my non-Edge S6. Symptoms:

    - it doesn't fast accuse anymore.
    - when connected to a PC, the notification says "Charging", no MTP/PTP notification appears.
    - Windows/Linux do non recognize the device at all. This means no file transfers, no SmartSwitch/Kies.
    - OTG USB, notwithstanding, it DOES work

    I've tried the post-obit, to no avail: different PCs, dissimilar USB ports, different cables, different chargers. Besides performed manufactory reset, booted into safety mode, and the *#0808# play a joke on. Null works.

    Yep, if adb "sees" you telephone chances are *#0808# volition take care of it.

    I got tired of trying to notice solutions for this so I contacted Amazon and they sent me a replacement (big thumbs up to these guys and their awesome customer service). The replacement works as expected.

    Wildly speculating here, but my thinking is that some of the pins on the microUSB port are not working for whatever reason so full advice betwixt the phone and other devices is not possible (that stops the phone from fast-charging and existence visible by PCs), but that doesn't prevent the others from working, hence why the phone all the same manages to charge.

    My s6 border has got the aforementioned problem since a week!
    I also did the all options and the ways that y'all guys have suggested to do... but , information technology did not worked

    Also at the mean time i can see that the charging time has got longer than before...... for example earlier in proximately 15 minutes it was fully charged simply now in five to 6 hours it become fully charged!

    I think there must exist some technical outcome or faulty with this version of this telephone at ( mini usb port/ charging port )

    But still I am not sure what could be the main error or faulty?

    Also have this consequence the last few days. Worked fine just a few days agone.
    No phone trauma. Lots of samsung and appstore updates, no Idead if this affected it.

    I doubtable there is something physically wrong in the micro usb port. Like one pocket-sized pin is aptitude, but this is pure speculation as I tin't meet well in there.

    I have tried the above fixes. Factory reset, *#0808#, and and so on.

    Samsung milky way s6.

    Phone also stopped working with my gear VR.
